Psychotherapy & Psychological Counseling

"It's unbelievable how much strength the soul can give the body."

William V. Humboldt

Perhaps you are at a point in your life where you realize that things cannot continue like this. You are suffering from an acute stressful situation or notice that experiences from the past keep coming back to haunt you.

Maybe you doubt yourself and your way of life. Maybe there are a lot of changes happening right now and you're having a hard time adapting. Maybe you are stuck in a state of grief.

Maybe life and its challenges sometimes overwhelm you. Maybe you just aren't feeling well and would like to change things in a positive direction.

And....

... You are looking for a therapy place.

psychotherapy

Psychotherapy encompasses the totality of psychological procedures for healing or alleviating disorders in the psychological area, in social relationships, in behavior or in certain bodily functions.

It is considered a medical treatment and is therefore not subject to VAT.

Unlike psychological counseling, psychotherapy requires a diagnosis and is generally a long-term process with regular sessions (at least 25 hours).

Psychotherapy can take place in a mixed setting, online and offline. It is a prerequisite to check whether your concerns and your condition are suitable for online therapy.

My approach to psychotherapy

Body-oriented psychotherapy
This therapeutic approach assumes that psychological and physical experiences are inextricably linked.

In this sense, our life experiences are stored not only as words and inner images, but also as so-called "body memories". Body therapy proves to be an important key in dealing with stressful experiences and situations - be they acute, chronic or long ago. In therapy, body work serves as a means of expressing inner experience and a source of change. It opens up new perspectives of experience.

Systemic therapy

The systematic approach looks at people in the context of all their important relationships with the social environment (family, friends, institutions, etc.) that are relevant to their life. In systemic individual therapy, a psychological disorder or problem is viewed in the context of these relationships (systems) and the associated behavioral and communication patterns. At the same time, these systems are also considered a source for solutions to the problem that are to be (re)discovered.

Schema therapy

It is an extension of cognitive behavioral therapy and assumes that there are certain learned basic schemas that control human behavior. Schemas can be inner beliefs, guiding principles or behavior patterns that can be useful or hindering in their function.

Therapy is about uncovering these schemas and strengthening the functional parts. Schema therapy offers the opportunity to gently and vividly gain new approaches to one's own experiences and behavior and to actively change them.

... However, you don't want to start psychotherapy.

Psychological counseling

Psychological counseling is usually short-term psychological support for a specific issue/problem and the resulting psychological/social stress.

It is not a medical treatment and is subject to VAT.

In contrast to psychotherapy, this procedure does not require a diagnosis and can take place in one session or in several sessions as needed.

Psychological counseling can take place online or on site in Törwang.
