Private practice -

What does that mean?

My practice is a private practice for psychotherapy with authorisation according to the Heilpraktikergesetz. This means that billing via statutory health insurance is not possible. In individual cases, costs may be reimbursed for private patients.

Please clarify whether your private health insurance will reimburse services in accordance with the Heilpraktikergesetz/psychotherapy and which requirements must be met.

Please note: Mediation, couples therapy and psychological counselling are generally not reimbursable services and must always be paid for privately.

There are also advantages for self-payers: You are not tied to a fixed duration of therapy and can decide for yourself how often and for how long you want to come to my practice. This means that you may need four, five or ten consecutive appointments. Maybe you notice an improvement in your situation after just two sessions and decide to work together.

Of course, it is always important to find an appropriate period of time that can bring about a change without pressure and establish it in the long term.

If you are considering seeking psychological support and would like to take out occupational disability and/or private health insurance in the near future (e.g. if you are self-employed) or are preparing to become a civil servant, get enough information in advance!

Your request may be rejected by the insurer or the state if you underwent psychotherapy within a certain period of time before concluding the contract/becoming a civil servant and this was billed through the statutory health insurance.
